Uh-Oh
Just a few minutes ago I picked up the phone to call in a refill for my migraine medication. As I'm looking at the box for the prescription number, I realize that I'm out of refills...I have to get the doctor to call it in. This is bad news because I am at the beginning of a migraine. It will only get worse as the day goes on. And I can't get in touch with my doctor until tomorrow. Crap.

Today I Met Angela...
Today I went to the kindergarten rodeo at Kaelin's school. They've been learning about Texas and what better way to end the week than with a rodeo?? They made stick horses out of yard sticks, had a trail ride through the school, sang a song about Texas, and then played some rode-related games outside. To finish the rodeo, we had a picnic. Fun stuff.

You're probably wondering who Angela is. That's Kaelin's stick horse. Why would Kaelin name a stick horse Angela?? Good question. I only know one person named Angela and she goes by Angie, so I'm not sure where Kaelin has even heard that name. Funny kid. Angela is quite cute...and very colorful. You can see pictures of Angela - and the kindergarten rodeo - below. The last picture is Kaelin and her teacher.
Happy Birthday, Kaelin!!
Today my one and only daughter turns 6. It's hard to believe that 6 years ago I was holding a newborn baby. She had blonde hair that pretty much stood up all over. My mom called her "Little Rod" - as in Stewart. Mom likes Rod Stewart, btw, so this was not an insult. ; ) I was so excited because she was healthy and didn't have to spend any time in the NICU. She stayed with me the whole time we were in the hospital...except when they took her to the nursery to change her clothes and blankets. It was wonderful!!
She has grown into quite the independent little thing. She is smart and stubborn, and she is sweet and beautiful. And I'm just a little bit proud!! ; )
Here's a picture of my birthday princess that was taken at her party last Saturday:

Anyone else??
Does anyone else find it strange that in those Kentucky Fried Chicken commercials the background music is "Sweet Home Alabama??"
Just wondering.
Just wondering.

Amazing Grace video
I found this video on somebody else's blog. Chris Tomlin's version of "Amazing Grace" was my favorite song on his new CD the very first time I heard it. I was pretty excited when I saw this video.

Christmastine's Day Presents
Yes, I said "Christmastine's Day." That's what I call the very late Christmas presents that I sent to my friends in OK, TN, and GA. I didn't get them done in time for Christmas, then January came and went, and the presents arrived at their houses just in time for Valentine's Day. Hence the name.
My weekend
I had yet another fun weekend with my Oklahoma buddy, Jamie. She and her daughter came to visit. Kaelin and Mazie played together all weekend long. Kaelin *loved* having a friend at her house. I loved having my friend at my house, too!! : )

I took Jamie to the David Crowder*Band concert in Houston on Saturday night. It was my birthday present to her. Even though there's a missing person that I miss terribly, we had a wonderful time! Their set list was different than when they were on the Wherever You Are tour...we got to hear, "Undignified," "Open Skies," and a couple of others that I hadn't heard in a while. We had some nice conversation before and after the show...it was really good to see them (the Crowders) again.
And it was great to spend some time with Jamie. Can't wait to see you again, girl! : )
Here's the one and only picture we took together this weekend...not the best picture we've ever taken together, but it's a great memory!

Yep, it is.
Life is good. I say that very phrase every so often and I think it at least once a day. Last Saturday Cole and I went to Wimberley for an overnight getaway. Wimberley is a little town south of Austin that's very picturesque and the main attraction is shopping. I don't mean like shopping mall shopping, I mean those little shops that sell everything from antiques to gourmet dog biscuits. We had enjoyed the day quite a bit and had been to pretty much every shop in town and I really hadn't seen much that I was terribly impressed with. Then we went in this one shop (I can't remember the name) and there was a little room off to the side full of these incredibly cute t-shirts and night shirts and coffee mugs, etc. I had never seen them before. They were very simple and very unique. The brand name on these items was "Life is Good." I saw about 5 t-shirts that I wanted as well as a couple of coffee mugs. As well as pajamas and clothes for the kids!! I walked away with 1 t-shirt and the website for this company so I could get some more stuff!! I went to the website and it turns out they sell way more than what that store carries. I'm trying to decide what I will get next. Cole is a little bit nervous because when I like something, I really like it and tend to go overboard just a bit. ; )
Check out the website when you can...it's great stuff!! : )
